When signing into DRACOON for the first time, the system will send the user a link with their username and an initial password to use once when signing in for the first time. Once the user has signed in with these login details, the system will automatically prompt the user to create a new password, which will be valid from that point on.
The storage space available to one or more users can be limited by assigning a variable quota to the user(s) from the data room’s total available space.
The recycle bin allows you to recover files that were deleted from a data room. This feature can be activated per data room. If the recycle bin is activated, any files in this data room that are deleted in the future are first moved to the recycle bin. For more information, please visit our Support Forum.

The search tool works across data rooms and can be used to easily find files, data rooms, and folders. The search results shown depend on the users’ access rights and are clearly displayed by creator, classification, size, date, and time. The list of results can also be further refined using filters. Please note: When searching for several terms, combine them with a *, for example invoice*2019.
Existing customers can add additional users to their contract at any time. Simply request a quote by sending an email to insidesales@dracoon.com.
Customers on the DRACOON Basic plan and above have the ability to select their own URL or subdomain. We recommend using a subdomain like dracoon.yourdomain.com or another name that suits your company. A subpage like yourdomain.com/dracoon would also be conceivable, as long as it is set up to redirect visitors to the subdomain from there.
Customers on the DRACOON Basic plan and above can customize their company logo and the primary and secondary colors at any time using the Config Manager. This is carried out via the Instabrand branding portal integrated into DRACOON.

If a user is granted access to an encrypted data room on DRACOON, the system first has to generate the keys. To create them, the user is guided through the process via a wizard. Once the user has generated the keys and created their personal password for them, the room administrator must still link the available data with this user, since they did not yet have access to the data in this room when it was uploaded. This is a very simple, one-time process, and afterwards the user only needs their encryption password to access encrypted data rooms on DRACOON. More Detailed Information about End-to-End Encryption.
For the DRACOON Cloud solutions, an SSL certificate is provided and renewed.
For DRACOON Server customers, the SSL certificate can be provided by the customer. In this case, you need to upload the certificate and the corresponding key to DRACOON.
As soon as files are located in a data room, the subsequent activation of client-side encryption is no longer possible for security reasons. Instead, simply create a new data room and activate client-side encryption for it – you can then transfer the desired files from the old data room to the new data room. From that point on, the files will be encrypted.
The classification of a file (public, for internal use only, confidential, and strictly confidential) is a purely visual method of categorizing files that provides a quick visual overview of how a file has been tagged. This classification does not have any effect on the method used to encrypt the file.
All files uploaded and downloaded via DRACOON are encrypted on the server and during file transfer by default. This encryption is always active. When activating the end-to-end encryption used by DRACOON, files are additionally encrypted on the client system, offering maximum security. Since each user has their own encryption password, this does not affect usability in any way. For more information, see our white paper on client-side encryption.
